What’s the Difference Between Factory-Activated AGM and Standard AGM Powersports Batteries?

Both use the same high-performance AGM technology. Factory-activated AGM batteries are filled, sealed and charged at the factory so they are ready to install out of the box. Standard AGM batteries ship dry with a premeasured acid bottle pack, allowing you to fill and activate the battery yourself. That way it stays fresh on the shelf until you are ready to ride.

 Can I Charge an AGM Powersports Battery with a Standard Car Charger?

You cannot use a standard car battery charger for an AGM battery. Powersports AGM batteries require a smart charger or maintainer designed specifically for AGM lead-acid chemistry. High-amperage automotive chargers charge too fast and can overheat small powersports battery cells. Using a low-amp, AGM-compatible trickle charger ensures long-term battery health during seasonal off-month storage.
