AGM Batteries for Cars & Trucks

Today’s advanced vehicles need a car battery just as advanced. Absorbed glass-mat (AGM) batteries from Interstate can outlast and outperform standard lead-acid batteries. Their unique design suspends the liquid electrolyte in fiberglass mats, offering incredible mounting flexibility and vibration resistance. Each spill-proof AGM battery from Intestate comes with either a 48-month or 36-month warranty, and they’re ideal for high-powered vehicles with start-stop engines or several high-drain accessories.

FAQs

Are AGM Batteries Better Than Traditional Lead-Acid Batteries?

AGM batteries offer several advantages compared to standard flooded lead-acid batteries. They’re spill-proof, require less maintenance, provide better resistance to vibration and can handle deeper discharge cycles. They can be more expensive (40–100% more than traditional batteries).

It especially depends on what your vehicle’s original equipment requirement is. If your vehicle was manufactured with an AGM, you must replace it with an AGM.

How Long Do AGM Batteries Last?

AGM batteries typically last longer than a flooded battery, though it can depend on usage, maintenance and environmental conditions.

To make your AGM battery last even longer, use the Guardian 4 battery charger to fully charge and keep it ready for years to come.

Do AGM Batteries Require a Special Charger?

Yes, we recommend you only use a charger specifically designed for AGM batteries.

Deeply discharged AGMs require controlled charging voltages and currents to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Using a standard charger that is not compatible with AGM batteries may damage the battery or reduce its lifespan.
