IB Values Mission ★ Veteran Hiring Initiative
Interstate launched the Values Mission ★ Hiring Initiative in April 2018 to provide potential career opportunities to active military, veterans, and military spouses and invite them to learn more about our culture and our values. Interstate Batteries is a conscious capitalism organization, with a stated set of Purpose & Values that define our culture. Our Values Mission-Hiring Initiative grew out of those. Interstate has team members who are military veterans – around 50 at our home offices alone, including Chairman of the Board Norm Miller.
Interstate hosts quarterly recruitment open houses, outreach events and works in partnership with military-focused service organizations like Allies in Service, Folded Flag, Hiring Our Heroes and the Bush Foundation. Current program partnerships include:
- Allies in Service
- Texas Veterans Commission
- Department of Labor
- Department of Veteran Affairs
- City of Dallas
- Dallas Workforce Commission
- Fort Hood
- Various Universities and Colleges
Interstate Honored by Department of Labor
In June 2018, Interstate was honored by the Department of Labor for our leadership in veteran outreach through our Values Mission ★ Hiring Initiative.
2018 AT&T Byron Nelson Operation Appreciation
Interstate was a proud sponsor of the 2018 Operation Appreciation annual pro-am golf tournament before the Byron Nelson, which hosts active duty and retired US military service members for round of golf and fellowship. Chris Willis, VP and Chief Legal Officer, was selected to lead the prayer for the Warrior Open.
